Stop the blindness for Edaisha
Donation protected
Meet Edaisha - Edaisha is a high school senior, with a bubbly, positive, gentle attitude. Edaisha plans on going to college for fashion design, even with her day to day challenges.
Edaisha is legally blind, with no sight in her right eye and minimal vision in her left eye. She began having minor vision problems when she was 13 and it has progressed to this point at age 17. Her vision will continue to get worse unless something is done.
Edaisha has a progressive eye disease called Keratoconus compounded by a secondary condition called Ectasia.
There is something that can be done now to stop the progression. Corneal Cross-linking and Intacs Procedure. Both of these procedures will not be paid by insurance and the Corneal Cross-linking is not approved by the FDA. This surgery is available in other countries, however it is possible for Edaisha to become part of a study group with specialists in Fairfield, CT.
The Ophthalmic Group has discounted their fees however this is still out of our reach. All monies received will go directly to Edaisha's medical expenses.
