Sydney's headed to Houston Ballet

Payton and I would like to thank everyone for their support in helping to send our daughter Sydney to the American Ballet Theater in New York last year. Sydney earned excellent reviews for her technique, passion and focus for dancing. She even had the chance to meet her idol Misty Copeland during the 2-week summer intensive program.
This year, Sydney returned to her lead role as Clara in the Nutcracker at the Indianapolis School of Ballet and became a teacher’s assistant for the young ballet class. She has progressed in her en pointe technique and regularly dances several levels above her age group. During this time, she has achieved great grades in her honors courses and helped lead the Robey Elementary Math Bowl team to the 4th highest score in the state of Indiana with a perfect individual score! Sydney also became a student assistant for the youth classes at Bethel Family Worship Center.
Sydney earned acceptance letters to the youth summer programs at the American Ballet Theater, School of American Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance in New York, as well as the Northwest Ballet in Seattle, before deciding to enroll in the Houston Ballet’s prestigious six week summer program. The Houston Ballet is the fifth largest ballet company in the US and invites students from auditions in 13 cities across the country and around the world for the summer program.
Sydney has been blessed by the Lord with numerous gifts and a passion for dance. While she has had access to great teachers, we would be lying if we told you that attempting to provide the financial means for her to receive the dance training and education she needs to continue her development has been easy.
We hope and pray again for your support and assistance. We are trying to raise $ 3,000 to help ensure our promising young dancer receives the necessary experience to achieve her goal of becoming a professional ballerina.
