1 IN A MILLION CANCER. HELP KIM

Donation protected
Meet Kimberlee Erb. Kim is the wife of Edward Erb. They have been married for 16 years and have 2 beautiful boys, Zachary, 16, and Maximus, 6. On February 14th, 2015, Kim was celebrating Valentine’s Day by having an ultrasound on her left leg. The ultrasound revealed 2 blood clots, one behind her knee and the other in her calf. The ultrasound also revealed a mass in Kim’s thigh about 7.5cm long. Kim was then sent to the hospital for a 2nd ultrasound. The hospital confirmed the doctor’s findings and Kim was admitted to the hospital. On Sunday, February 15th, Kim had a CAT Scan to confirm the mass origin and size. She was also being treated with an IV drip for the blood clots. On Monday, February 16th, an MRI was ordered to get a better look at the mass and determine if it was a tumor. On Tuesday, February 17th, a biopsy was done on the tumor to confirm what the tumor was. Kim was finally released from the hospital on Friday, February 20th after 6 days in the hospital. Kim will continue on blood thinners at home until the blood clots clear.
On Tuesday, February 24th, Kim and her husband, Ed, received the news that they were dreading. The mass is a Synovial Sarcoma Cancerous Tumor. Synovial sarcoma is a type of soft-tissue sarcoma. It is a rare cancer. Only about 1 to 3 individuals in a million people are diagnosed with this disease each year. Kim will need to go through 1 month of Radiation to shrink the mass. Then she will need to go through 1 month of chemotherapy. Finally, she will need to have surgery to remove the cancer. During this time, she will also need to have additional MRI’s to confirm that the cancer has not spread. Kim has a long road ahead of her. We do not want her to stress about the costs of treatment while she is busy getting better, so we have created this page to help her and her family cover her mounting medical expenses.
