Kristen's service dog

As most of you know my wife Kristen was diagnosed with a life threatening disease called Addison's disease, last October! She has since had to quit her job and been hospitalized multiple times! At this time there are no medical devices or ways for addisons patients to check their cortisol levels, thus leaving a very dangerous and life threatening situation! When a person has Addison's disease their adrenal glands no longer produce cortisol, cortisol plays a major role in all body systems! It keeps your heart pumping, regulates blood pressure, electrolytes, neurological function and more! She takes steroids daily to replace what her body doesn't make! Anything you do uses cortisol when she goes low she is at risk, for cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, brain damage and even worse death! 1 out of 6 adrenal crisis result in death! We need to keep her around she is our rock! Since we have no way to test her cortisol levels, it's a guessing game making it like playing Russian roulette with her and that's a scary thing for her and us! So it's my hopes to get her a service dog to be able to detect her low cortisol levels before it's too late! They specifically scent train dogs to detect low cortisol levels and it would be so amazing to be able to have a companion alert her and us when she is low and she could treat herself before going into a crisis! Our family has been through so many medical challenges. my wife is a cancer survivor she had cervical cancer in 2010, she then had a bleeding disorder called ITP, our 10 year old has type 1 diabetes diagnosed when she was 4 years old, I underwent brain Surgery for a rare condition called chiari malformation and our 12 year old has what is called pseudo tumor cerebri. Along with all of these health challenges comes a lot of expense and medical bills, with that and her being out of work it's almost impossible to get her a service dog!  We are a strong family with a huge knack for helping others! Even though she faces her own trials, My wife has the biggest heart.  while working in the school, she bought shoes and clothes for kids in need. She took them under her wing and nurtured them.  Year after year she made sure she helped children in need have a merry Christmas.  We deliver Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve she always made sure they had coats, hats, gloves and toys to wake up to on Christmas morning!  She has the biggest heart is always at service in any way she can be.  Whether it's making dinner for a family, gathering groceries for someone in need, just being there with a loving and listening ear. She helps with anything she possibly can. She is always willing to lend a hand and give a hug to anyone in need! I always tease her that she makes friends every where she goes, that's because she is just so kind and caring.  She seriously talks and smiles with everyone she comes in contact with! She is such a strong person with so much to give and has done so much for our family and others. She carries us through these hard times and never complains, in my eyes is super woman! I feel this is one way I/we can help give back to her and hope for a long happy life keeping her here with us! I am not the type of person to ask for handouts or help from anyone! These dogs and their training come with a big price tag, but in my opinion there is nothing more valuable than my wife's life! So if you would find it in your heart to please help us give her this gift of a life saving companion! Thank you from the bottoms of all of our hearts here in the Kummer house hold
