Seizure Assist Dog for Micayla

Micayla was diagnosed with Epilepsy with partial seizures in 2006 at the age of 5. Doctors were hopeful that she would grow out of this by the time she was 11 or 12. Rather than growing out of the seizures, Micayla's epilepsy became more aggressive and now experiences full Grand Mal seizures. Micayla has to have a great deal of supervision during activities. As a 14 year old, it becomes embarrassing to ask a teacher or other students to escort her to the restroom because she is not supposed to go alone in the event a seizure occurs. Micayla has collapsed and hit her head on numerous occasions. Having a seizure assist dog will allow her to have more freedom and independence without embarrassment. This dog can prevent her from hitting her head or experiencing other harm when a seizure occurs as well as many other amazing things this dog can do for her. We are excited to have this opportunity to have a Seizure Assist Dog for her.
