Macie's health fund

Hi! My name is Macie Latiga (aka Moose, Gooser, etc...) and I am a 5 year old pit bull terrier. I was adopted from a resue in Dumont, Colorado a little over a year ago after my former owner dumped me on the streets in a cold mountain town with no food or water and nowhere to stay warm. As soon as I was rescued after being in a kennel for 6 months, I gained 25lbs and became very healthy and happy with my new owner. I am normally full of energy and happiness, until recently...2 weeks ago I was on a walk with my woner and was threatned by a near by neighbor whom seemed to not be fond of pit bulls in general (even though I am full of nothing but love) The neighbor started yelling at my owner and threatening to shoot me if I was seen out walking again and that I was lucky that she didn't have a gun on her at the time all because of the breed of dog that I am. I was on a leash doing absolutely nothing wrong. My owner took me home and called the police who took down a report but stated that because noone was hiurt and because we didn't know the name of the neighbor or where she lived they couldn't come out and do anything. I have only been able to go out on short walks along the block since then. However, I live in a corner house (which the angry neighbor saw me come out of) which is easy to get something into the backyard if a human wanted to. On Sunday mornning I woke up very ill.  I have thrown up more than 20 times a day and am now living in a pet emergency hospital on IV fluids and a feeding tube so that I do not become more dehydrated and die. I started out 3 days ago in the Greeley, CO ER for pets and was transferred directly to Fort Collins, CO for and emergency procedure called an EGD. At the time we just figured something was stuck in my esophagus like a toy or some sort of bone/food that could easily be fixed or possible surgery could remove it if not, but since then, I have had 3 sets of X-Rays done, blood work, multiple fluid injections in my neck and back and since I can't keep fluids down. After 4 hours of being sedated during my EGD the doctors found that I had been severely poisoned by something and that there was a dark black ulcer found from something that was very toxic in a large amount in a very short amount of time. 14 hours later I am still sedated on feeding tubes and still not being able to keep down liquids or food. Doctors believe that this could go on for days (especially since my pathology takes 3-5 days to come back). The biopsies of the ulcer were taken to CSU to be examined so that we can find out what I was poisoned with. Doctors stated that is seems as if I ahve had a large amount of either steroids, prescription drugs, antifreeze, asprin, windex, or possibly some other type of household or car product. So far my owner has spent nearly $10,000.00 on me and we aren't even close to being out of the woods. As soon as we found out what is poisioning me we can being to treat for the correct thing. Please help me get justice and help me and my wonderful owner get through this hard time. It isn't fun being sick and not being able to come home to my friends and family members. Maybe even a little prayer  could help me out. Thank you!!

Love,

Macie
