As a father of two, a 2 year old and a 1.5 month old, I cannot fathom the circumstances people are going through. How do you put to sleep a baby that is hungry when there is no food? This is just one of the many questions that have haunted me for the past two weeks.
Habitat for Humanity Guatemala is the organization that will be receiving whatever funds we get to collect. I find great comfort in knowing that this is a worldwide organization with an outstanding reputation, aside from knowing people who are on the leadership board. This is the breakdown of how the funds are distributed:
- Food kits (35$): feeds a family of 5 for 2 weeks.
- Cash Voucher (50$): supplies of economic income by covering payment of basic services or rent.
- Hygiene Kit (70$): provides safe filtered water, gloves, sanitizer, among other things.
This is a concise description of what is needed within each category, but you can find more details about what is being given by following this link: https://www.habitatguate.org/en/tropical-storm-eta-response/
The plan is to send in the resources by DECEMBER 15TH. You can donate through this account or send in the money directly to them by following this link: https://www.habitatguate.org/payment/?lan=eng&matter=ETAresponse
