Hi its Tim from ASMP and the rental desk at Pro Photo Supply. We just found out about this and thought it a good idea to do what we can for Patrick. Patrick is a local photo assistant / tech. As I understand things the goal can be exceeded.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -A Portland man was seriously injured by two strangers in a brutal attack near his home, and now a reward is being offered in the case.
Patrick Wheaton had been out with friends and took the bus home around 1 a.m. on Feb. 14 when two men assaulted and robbed him just a few houses away from his own front door, near North Fessenden Street and North Exeter Avenue.
He was hit in the face with a brick paver and was knocked unconscious. The assailants took his wallet, phone and house keys – then continued to kick him in the head before running off.
Wheaton's neighbor, Devon Snider, witnessed the attack after hearing commotion outside.
"He was pretty beat up, so we stayed with him and called the cops," Snider recalled.
But at the time, he was so badly injured, Snider didn't even realize the man on the ground was his neighbor.
"[My father-in-law] held his hand, prayed with him, tried to make him feel better and asked him, ‘Hey are you doing OK? Squeeze my hand,' and I don't think he squeezed his hand at all," he said.
Thanks to Snider and his family, Wheaton was in the hospital within half an hour of the attack.
But without his wallet, he was listed as a John Doe.
Wheaton's longtime girlfriend, Kate Newton-Cromwell, was at the coast when the attack happened, and expected him to join her there later that day.
“I was texting him. I was calling him. It was going straight to voice mail, and by 3:30 p.m. I knew that was weird," she said.
She ended up filing a missing persons report, and because the attack was in such close proximity to Wheaton's home, police linked the two cases together and told Newton-Cromwell her boyfriend was in the ICU.
"I looked at the cop and said, ‘Are you kidding?'" she said. "Because it just doesn't make sense, it's like something that happens in the movies."
The reason why Wheaton was attacked is still unclear.
"Maybe they saw his phone. He'd just gone to the ATM. Maybe they saw him there. We just don't know; we have no idea," she added. "But all they got out of it was some cash and a card, so I just don't know how it was worth it to them."
Newton-Cromwell said Wheaton is slowly recovering and his breathing tube has been removed, but the extent of damage to the brain is still unclear and a full recovery could take up to six months at a rehab facility.
