HELP A LOVING FATHER ON HIS PATH TO HEALING

Hi, my name is Dafina Kuficha, I am the loving mother of my beautiful son, Ceswanne Lewis, who resides in Atlanta, GA. This GFM request is for him. Due to a horrific incident that has changed the trajectory and his quality of life, we are asking for your generosity.

Before we get into what happened, let me first introduce you to Ceswanne Lewis, who is affectionally referred to as "Swan," by those who love him.

Ceswanne aka Swan is a man who loves his family and loves life! He has a great love for the outdoors, hiking, swimming, sharing time with family and friends, and so on. He is one of the most intelligent, wise, and intuitive people you can meet. From an early age, his compassion for others was evident. If he knew a child was having a hard time at home, Swan would always offer up our home as a place of refuge. Be it person or animal, he has always had a heart that wanted to help others and see them safe. Due to his recent traumatic event, Ceswanne has had to find home for his two dogs and his cat, Dash.

He is also known for being a Video Playback crew member in the film industry. He recently worked on Marvel movies, most recently on "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." He had just started working on a TV series and was scheduled to work on a movie soon after the series would end. None of that will come to pass. He truly is known to make work a better and more positive place for others. He brings such light to those around him and naturally finds a way to make people laugh no matter how terrible the day may be. In such short amount of time, he builds such deep connections and friendships that his coworkers truly end up seeing him as family. People confide in him, feel safe, and comfortable with him. He truly puts everyone’s heart at ease with just his presence. He shows everyone kindness no matter who they are and champions everyone’s success and growth. He inspires everyone around him to not give up on their dreams no matter how difficult it may be.

Ceswanne has one of the biggest hearts I know. He has a 24 year old daughter who means the world to him. He also has a little girl who he loves dearly. He does everything he can as a father to support and be there for them. They are truly is his entire life.

On January 23, 2023, I got the most horrific call a mother could ever get. A social worker from Marcus Trauma Center asked if I was the mother of a Ceswanne Lewis. “I’m sorry to tell you, but your son has been shot and is in critical condition in our emergency room.” If I didn’t have so much to do to travel across country to be by his side, I would have collapsed.

Ceswanne had gone to check on his little girl, but was met by a man who was in the house. He opened fire on my son, without cause or provocation, shooting him four times. My son’s words were, “I came here for love, why did you kill me?”

Ceswanne woke up in the ambulance and told me that something inside of him said he could live. Two of the bullets landed in Swan's chest, collapsing his right lung, one remaining lodged in spine, resulting in paralysis. One bullet went through his shoulder, breaking his scaps, minimizing the usage of his right arm and hand, and one bullet went through his wrist obliterating some of the carpal bones. He has undergone two reconstructive surgeries on the wrist. While the doctors gave him a 1% chance of walking, I consider those great odds! God knows nothing about human limitations!

It's been very challenging but, against all odds, Swan is a champion! He became his own miracle and we know he will continue to be so. He has the determination to live and the determination to complete recovery, no matter what the doctors say. I truly believe this with my entire heart. I’ve seen Swanne work miracles before.

One time Swan rescued a puppy who was severely abused and needed surgery. His heart couldn’t take seeing the puppy being treated that way and took it from the owner. I couldn’t believe it, but in a week that puppy was walking again and healed. The puppy’s tail was waving with joy when I saw it. Swan truly is a blessing, and he naturally heals everything he touches. I know that God will save him the way he did for that puppy and others.

Unfortunately, we are facing a lot of costs, rehabilitation costs, personal therapist, home equipment costs, cross-country moving costs, daily living costs, including special nutrition, herbal formulas, acupuncture, and other modalities we will engage to continue his healing. I am moving from California and looking for a home so I can provide him with 24-hour care and hopefully have daily help, as Ceswanne continues his path to healing. Right now, I live in the hospital room with Ceswanne to give him the care the hospital can't give.
