Phil's Medical Fund

Many of you may already know that my dad, Phil Hope, has recently been diagnosed with cancer.  He has already begun chemotherapy and radiation treatment and will be undergoing surgery after that.  He is unable to work during this time and we are asking for your help and support.  Any amount that you could donate to help my parents pay for the medical treatments and living expenses during this time would be so greatly appreciated.

For those of you who are blessed enough to know Phil, you know he is a kind, generous, hardworking man.  He has worked tirelessly in the community for the past 18 years running the Misson Food Centre and Christmas Bureau and giving countless hours of his time to helping people.

In April of this year his contract with Mission Community Services was not renewed.  This left him suddenly without a job.  A few short weeks later, my mom, Laura Hope, was laid off from her job of 22 years at Mission Community Services.  As if losing both of their jobs at the same time and losing all the extended health care benefits that go along with it wasn't enough, it was only a few short weeks after that when Phil was given his cancer diagnosis.

My dad has worked so hard his entire life for other people.  He is truly the kindest, most generous and compassionate person I know.  His treatments are 5 days a week and his surgery and recovery will leave him unable to work in home renovations, which was his plan after losing his job.  

After years of giving to others, I am asking his community to give back to him.  He needs our love and support to get through this difficult time.
