Angels against abuse

We have all read about and probably know someone who has been a victim of domestic abuse. It's easy to think, "why didn't she leave" and blame the victim, but it's usually so much more complicated. After years of abuse our dear friend is taking the steps to get out. The beating she took Sunday made her realize that the next time she might not make it out alive. She has pressed charges and is determined that this will not happen again. She is numb, heartbroken, emotionally and physically exhausted, wounded, scared, so scared, "my whole world changed overnight". In typical fashion she is ready to fight for a happier safe future for her and her child. Knowing our friend, a few years down the line, she will be the poster child for domestic abuse survivors and will be out there convincing other victims they can become survivors.
She needs housing. That's what this fund is for. Her daughter has special needs and a dog she can't live without so a shelter isn't a great option. Her beater will be released from jail today so we want to get her moved ASAP.
I know my friend list is pretty amazing. Please help if you can. Many of you know our friend, please respect her need for privacy right now. She is taking it one hour at a time and we will lift her up and rebuild her so she' comes back better than ever. I promise you she is worthy of your help. She brings so much love and light to this world, we need to help her shine bright again.
