Please help us make a mother’s dream come true...
In May of 2013, Mandy White was diagnosed with breast cancer. She found a bruise on her chest that wouldn’t go away, so she eventually had it checked out and found out it was breast cancer. She fought breast cancer for a whole year, getting radiation and a double mastectomy. Then in 2014, doctors said she was in remission and virtually cancer free. Not long after this great news, she began having headaches, her arm felt numb and she had trouble moving it, so she went back to the doctor to make sure the cancer was gone. Instead, Mandy was told the cancer had metastasized throughout her body. Though going through so much herself, she wrote on Facebook that her biggest regret was that she was unable to afford to give her boys a family vacation. With this heartbreaking news, we the 7th grade team at Columbus Signature Academy set out to make that dream a reality.
We first researched and budgeted three different vacations, a cheap one in case we did not raise a lot money, a middle level vacation and then the best vacation we could think of for them. This gave us our money goal. For the best vacation, it will cost $7600, so that is why we set that as our goal.
We then began planning and organizing fund raisers. We are planning and will host a benefit concert for Mandy on Wednesday, March 11th at Central’s Grey Box Theatre. We then all planned and wrote GoFundMe pages and this one was chosen as the best! We are also having a silent auction at our benefit concert and have written letters to local businesses for donations of items to auction off.

You can also donate items for the silent auction or attend the benefit concert on on March 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Central Middle School’s Grey Box Theatre.
