Andrew's New Mission: RECOVERY

Donation protected
On Thursday, February 19, 2015, Officer Andrew Jordan was assigned as a tactical officer for the Corpus Christi Police Dept. SWAT team to conduct a CCPD Narcotics Search and Arrest Warrant. The purpose of this warrant was to make the community safer for its citizens by eradicating the ability for a locally known drug dealer to distribute narcotics.

SWAT team members came under hostile fire from inside the residence. The suspect concentrated his fire through the front window, as officers were executing a port and cover of the window . Of the officers, Officer Jordan was seriously injured in the line of duty as a direct result of this combatant fire. He suffered a gunshot wound to his right forearm, shattering his radial bone and severing his radial artery; he was also grazed by a bullet to his left triceps. A third bullet entered just under his belt line, penetrating his lower abdomen area.

Despite these serious and disabling injuries, Officer Jordan remained calm and attempted to provide cover for his fellow SWAT team operators as other operators dragged him from the hostile area to safety. Officer Jordan maintained his true grit and the sense of humor he is well-known for even while facing grave danger.

Officer Jordan has had to endure 6 surgeries to date, and still has more surgeries planned in the coming weeks. The journey for Officer Jordan to recover from these injuries will be a long and tough battle, both physically and emotionally. Officer Jordan and his family are in need of help to properly care for him through this trying time. Thank you for your support!
