The Sampson Family

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Shanna and I opened this GoFundMe for my best friends and adoptive brother and sister.

Last night a vehicle lost control, hit their neighbors house, ran the neighbor over, then took out their fence and landed in their living room/kitchen. The vehicle was literally inches from crushing Ashley but thank goodness she was able to walk away with only minor scratches. The neighbor is an incredibly sweet woman and is in ICU but stable.

The damage to their yard and house is extensive. The home is unlivable and currently unsafe with glass everywhere, a busted load bearing wall, it wrecked most of their furniture and many many sentimental and important things they've been collecting for over a decade together.

Thank goodness as well, my niece and brother were in the front part of the house, and while they're traumatized they are uninjured.

The issue is that the insurance will likely cover a lot of the costs, but that takes time to complete the process. They are currently looking for a longer term short-term living situation while the house is being repaired, and have taken on added cost of living during this terrible time, added costs of fuel, cannot work and are missing out on wages and paying a lot for a room every night.

I started this with the goal of helping them until the gears of the insurance machine get spinning smoothly and hoping it will ease their burden just a bit in this trying time.

Ashley and Sampson are some of the kindest, most helpful, genuinely amazing people in the entire world. They will go out of their way to help those around them and spread their love through generosity, light, and kindness wherever they go. Let's help them out in their now time of need.

Thank you all so much!

As an update I've raised the goal after having some time helping Ashley and Sampson cleaning today and getting a clearer picture of what's going on. Not only does it look like they will need to pay a $1400+ deductible, but just buying essentials for their room, pets, and daughter, they are already out almost $300 for one grocery trip (we all know the pain!) not including the room and added fuel and travel time and gas. I know it's a lot to ask for more, especially after everyone has been so amazing, but I'm really trying to get them enough to be able to settle in somewhere for a short term lease. Also if anyone has a lead on a month-month lease with 2-3 bedrooms to accommodate them and their pets, please reach out to me. They can't return to work until they have hard line Internet and their daughter is missing school due to the way scheduling and hours work. Anything helps, y'all. And thank you again so so much.
