Hurricane Ian Relief Fund
Hi, our names are Ryan and Maya. We are students at Pines Charter and we are in senior and freshman year of high school, respectively. Florida is our home. As we sit here today and watch the havoc and destruction caused by Hurricane Ian, it left us feeling helpless —but hopeful. Hopeful that as a community we could come together to provide relief for our fellow communities that will consequently suffer. Our neighbors to the north will have lost their homes, personal belongings, etc. They will suffer a devastating loss of what is their personal belongings and hope will be ripped from them as well.
As I approach my senior year I am required to earn service hours. I don’t just want to earn service hours as a “requirement” and I wish to really contribute and make an impact in our community. There’s no better time than now when the need is the greatest.
I will be accepting donations and 100 percent of the proceeds will be used to provide relief in form of monetary relief and providing essentials to those that have experience such catastrophic loss. If you do not wish to donate money, we will accept the following:
- Women’s, Men’s & Children’s clothing
- Personal Hygiene products for women, men and children
- Bottled Water
- Diapers
- Blankets
Please contact [email redacted] to coordinate drop off of your items.
I sincerely thank you for your donation and hope that together we can make a difference. Once we have collected items we will be looking for volunteers to assist us with delivery and distribution.
