Jennifer Linder Tomko, Friendswood graduate and mother of four was hit by a drunk driver going 85 mph three weeks ago on her birthday. The car was totaled and she had to be cut out by jaws of life. Jennifer was life flighted to Memorial Hermann in the medical center and had two major surgeries and one minor surgery. Among her injuries is a shattered pelvis, ruptured bladder and crushed bottom two vertebras and knee. She's unable to walk for at least six months. Unfortunately, the driver that hit her had no insurance and Jennifer only carried liability. The family is now relying on a very undependable car that overheats constantly and is on it's last leg. Her husband Joey was laid off in December and has struggled since then to find a permament job. His recent focus has been helping Jennifer recover & taking care of the kids and household. The debt is mounting quickly and making ends meet should be the least of their concerns right now. Despite all the negativity, this family remains resilient and are just thankful for Jennifer's second chance at life. My goal is to raise enough money for them to buy a more trustworthy car (if needed when this one goes caput) and help ease the burden of bills. Please find it in your heart to help them get back on their feet. I've seen firsthand how generous and loving this community can be.
