Hazel is a devoted mother, wife, daughter and friend. In October 2014, she was diagnosed with Stage II Multiple Myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the blood which can only be treated with chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant. Treatment is available for her only in Atlanta, Georgia at Winship Cancer Institute. Hazel will undergo transplant in March 2015 at Emory University Hospital. The travel and lodging out of state has caused financial hardships for her family since her husband, Jerome continues to be at her side for all her treatments. Any donations for this family will be greatly appreciated as this will be a long process for them.
