Those who know Naomi would describe her as lovable, caring, hardworking, and humble.
To us she is the steadfast oldest sibling; our forever role model. The one we get to proof read our papers and rely on to wake us up when we sleep in for family functions.
The best musician, the best cook, the first one to step up when others are in need, while being the most resilient in times of challenge. Together with her witty sense of humour and contagious laugh, she is a beautiful person in every sense.
Her husband Ben describes her as the woman of his dreams. To her 3 young children, Noel, Lewis, and baby Sadie, she is a devoted and tireless supermom.
Naomi was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is facing this fight in her typical fashion, with grace and quiet courage. Her journey of extensive treatment, beginning with chemotherapy, is starting today Friday June 16th.
The year ahead will hold many challenges for this young family, some of them financial. As Naomi only just returned to work from maternity leave, she does not qualify for critical illness support or employment insurance at this time.
Contributions will be put towards everything from medication and additional treatment costs, to travel expenses, child care, and any other needs as they arise.
