Tragic House Fire

On January 10, 2015 I thought I was recieving a call from my sis's boyfriend to see how my mom was doing after having hand surgery the day before. I could not believe my ears. "Michele, it's bad, it's bad, Teri's house is burning down!!" My mind was frozen. Did everyone get out? Are they okay? Where is my sister Teri, my niece Danielle, her 14 month old son Emmitt???? Once I knew they survived,  my mind went into action. Get there is all I could think of. When I arrived at the scene I could tell it was really bad. The house was still on fire. There were so many fire trucks and hoses everywhere. Because of the freezing temperatures the firemen put my sister in her running car to keep warm.  They could not get me to her fast enough. At that moment my heart broke. Seeing her all alone with only the clothes on her back was worst than any nightmare you can imagine. We sat in that car for over 2 hours crying, talking and trying to make some sense out of this. 
Now it is 2 days later and realization is setting in. Just imagine walking outside to get the mail, take the dog for a walk or seeing where that noise came from and now that is it. When you turn around to go back there is no going back. Everything gone! The reality of loosing everything is beyond imaginable.

Nothing in life prepares you for lifes tragedies. This is one of those times.
