Why I Need Your Support

Hello Everyone!


My name is Alejandra Garcia and I am from Los Angeles, CA. I am an entrepreneur and jewelry designer and I have been selected as one of the finalists to attend Flying Solo’s Paris Fashion Show this fall. I feel fortunate and excited to be offered this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Showcasing my jewelry in Paris would be a dream come true and I need your help. The fee to participate is $5,900, the first half is due on July 21st and the rest is due on September 3rd. With such a short notice, I’m afraid it is not doable at the moment but with your donation everything is possible. As a little gift from me, every donation of $50 or more will receive a sterling silver ring  and every donation of $150 or more will receive custom-made earrings from me.

My goal for Moon & Milk is to be able to employ underprivileged women and single mothers and see my designs in runaway shows in different fashion capitals of the world. I want women to have the same chance of freedom and independence that Moon & Milk has given me. The reason why this is so important to me is because I have seen the women in my family and past generations live unfulfilling lives and never reaching their highest truest expression of themselves. My cousins, aunts, grandmothers, and my mother, unfortunately didn’t have the advantages that I have such as: a college education, being born in the US, and having support not only from my family but also my friends, therefore, I have a responsibility to change my life and of other women. This is extremely personal and close to my heart and I’m determined to break the cycle and change this for the future women in my family. I want to give women the opportunity to break free from their expected roles and be able to chase their dreams. My independence is essential to my being, it is what drives me everyday to keep on pushing even on those days when I feel like throwing everything out the window, It’s what fuels me to become the truest expression of myself. That is why women around the globe buy my earrings, because my spirit of independence and freedom is channeled through my earrings. Everyday I am thankful that I was able to create my business and I strongly believe Moon & Milk can offer the same to hundreds of other women who are striving every single day to reach their fullest potential.


Flying Solo extended an invitation to me as an “emerging independent designer” and “ones to watch” to attend their Paris Fashion Show and I cannot let this opportunity slip away. Flying Solo has a viewing audience of about 17 million people and press releases from Bazaar, Elle, The New York Times, Vogue, and more. With your donation, you can help me reach my goal and take my small online business to the runaway.

The Flying Solo Paris Fashion Show will offer me not only an amazing network opportunity that I currently don’t have access to, but I will also have the chance to be featured on editorials in magazines such as Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, and more. I am being guaranteed press releases, interviews with designers and models, and my jewelry to be used on the runaway show. This event will take Moon & Milk to the next level
