This past October, the Lord made it very clear that our family was not complete. Within a two week period, Bethany had two friends from different states (who do not know one another) send her the exact same picture of a little girl in China. Immediately, we started to pray about the prospect of another adoption. Through many confirming events (to include the excitement of our daughters) we have decided to move forward in adopting Myra!
We are making great progress in this complicated multi-national process but with a shorter than anticipated timetable there is much yet to do. It is in this final stretch that we turn to you, our friends and family, for the support and encouragement required. Bethany and I humbly ask that you consider supporting our adoption in one of the two critical ways below.
The first is through prayer:
- Would you please pray for us as we try and get all of the paperwork and details completed as quickly as possible?
- Would you also pray for Myra, that the Lord would protect her and prepare her even now to come home with us in the next year?
The second means of support is through a financial gift. The cost of an international adoption from China is around $40,000. We are needing to raise money for our adoption fees that help to cover the cost of the adoption facilitation in China.
This fee includes:
- legal servcies and communication in China
- child welfare support
- money to medically screen Myra and provide updates to us
- translation services, training, education, and registration
- visa and passport services
