This message is on behalf of Myra (Mirdalee) Velez requesting emergency help for her family in Puerto Rico.
On September 20th, Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico wiping out everything in its path. The small town of Cidra has suffered major damage and will take several months to stabilize. Many families have been devastated including my own family. My family is without electricity, minimal water, phone service, gas, little food, and no way to obtain any essential resources at this time. The estimated time table for recovery from all damage is 6 months. They are currently trapped and helpless on the island at this point. I am starting this fundraiser as a cry for help. Their health and lives are in jeopardy. I need your help to bring my family home to Chicago so I can help take care of them. Please, it would be greatly appreciated if you could find it in your heart to donate anything to help support this cause. The donations will go directly towards the purchase of airline tickets for seven of my family members. The tickets would be purchased for my mother, sister, her husband, their three kids, and one niece. Any remaining money will go towards other Puerto Rican families who are in dire need of help.
