Tom Mynaugh has been the Golf Course Superintendent at Renditions Golf Course for the last ten years. Anyone who has played Renditions has appreciated his efforts first hand. The course is stunning. Tom is a highly respected member of the Golf Course Superintendents Assoc. of America, and a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Agronomy.
Anyone fortunate enough to become acquainted with Tom would agree he is the nicest, gentlest person you would ever want to meet. Tom enjoys golf (of course), loves to cook, and is a master griller. Tom is a diehard Ravens and Caps fan, and like so many fans always believed that his teams could win. He really enjoys shooting 9-ball and having a Guinness with friends in his mancave. Above all else he cherishes time with his family - wife Pilar, and their two children Alexandra and Thomas Jr. They enjoyed spending time at the beach, going to ball games, and amusement parks as do most young families.
Alexandra graduated South River high school in May of this year, and regrettably Tom was unable to attend her graduation ceremony. Thomas Jr. completed his junior year at South River High School.
Two years ago Tom was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He has been fighting every day to extend his time with us and recently has taken a turn for the worse. Pilar had to call in Hospice this week to assist in caring for Tom. Pilar has taken a leave of absence from work in order to provide the constant care required for Tom's day to day needs.
Like so many proud people, Tom was not one to ask for help, but is always there to help others. Now faced with his final (proverbial) round, we are asking for others to help Tom and his family. To help their family in this most difficult time any assistance that you may offer is truly appreciated. The last thing he needs to worry about right now is how to pay their bills?, will the children be able to attend college if I'm not around?, will Pilar be able to maintain the home? etc....
No matter how much we plan when God decides it's your time to join him most of us are not prepared. It's the generosity of family, friends, and community that eases our burden. Please help ease their burden.
