‪@youcaring #ShowYourScar My scar is not one you can see.. My scar is blindness in my left I. How it empowers people you ask? You know how when you hear someone's story and think "Wow, I thought I had it bad." I am one of those stories.. I was born with 2 hemangioma's. It's basically a noncancerous growth that forms due to an abnormal collection of blood vessels. One on my eye and one on the back of my head. I had surgery at 6 months old to remove them. When I was 10 I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At the age of 14 I had a 14 cm benign mass of blood removed from my stomach and it was then that I found out that I was born with only 1 kidney. 18 years later and I am in Stage 3 of kidney disease. At 21 I found out I had something call Gastroparesis, it's a Condition that affects the stomach muscles and prevents the stomach from emptying properly. At the age of 27 I lost almost all the vision in my left eye and I have only central vision in my right eye, no peripheral or depth perception. I cannot drive, I have a wonderful and amazing boyfriend who takes me to all my doctor appointments and takes me to run all my usual errands. We recently got a Diabetic Alert Dog. I was having diabetic seizures in the middle of the night from my blood sugar going down to 22. Normal range is 80-120. My boyfriend would come home from work and find me having a seizure. So we got Lancet,we named him after the needle that they use to test your blood sugar. Only problem was that he was $16,000. So we made some fundraising sites and raised almost half! But I still owed more so I started making monthly payments ( about the amount of a car payment ). I am permanently disabled so I live on a fixed income. Let me tell you, it is not easy. We still owe almost $3,000. Plus the food he eats is about $80/26lb bag which doesn't even last a month. So yes, my life has been hard but I always have a smile! Most of my scars are on the inside but they are still scars. ‬

I am asking you to get the word out about my story and to please donate so that I am able to bring this life saving dog home. Please send this to family and friends, and share on Facebook and Twitter.

At the end of the day I know everything will be okay. Deuteronomy 31:6: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."

Thank you all so very much in advance for your help. There are no words that could ever express how much this means to me and my family!
