We are My G.I.R.L.S.! (Gifted, Intelligent, Royal, Lil, Sisters) A non-profit organization dedicated to instilling the importance of dedication, teamwork, health and lots of spirit in girls ages 5-14 through our cheerleading and mentor program.
We’re proud of our unique organization in that we are the ONLY All-Star Cheer prep program in Baltimore City. We also understand the need for recreational programs in our area and realize that many households in our city are economically disadvantaged – therefore we keep registration fees low so that all girls can participate, regardless of their financial background.
That’s why we need YOU! But first, we want to share our incredible journey…
We began in January of 2015 with a small group of girls, many of whom never cheered before, and an even smaller group of passionate and dedicated volunteer coaches and administrative staff. Due to lots of hard work, dedication and even some tears, we took home SECOND PLACE with our Level 2 Princess squad at our VERY FIRST competition – establishing our small, but mighty program as a force on the Cheer scene!
Because we charmed for charm city at our first competition, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake invited us to City Hall where our program was honored with a
Certificate of Appreciation Award. It was an incredible moment for our girls – they were able to see first-hand what opportunities and possibilities can be made available to them as a result of their own hard work and dedication.
With the next competition looming, we knew we had to paint every single competition from then on, pink and blue – so, that’s just what we did! Our next two competitions, with the most recent one being February 20, 2016, we dominated! We scored First place with our Level 2 Princess squad AND Second place with our level
one Dutchess squad – proving that this unlikely, new cheer squad from Baltimore can compete with the best of them!
Now,
THE US NATIONALS ARE COMING! They will be held on May 7-8 in Virginia Beach, VA and our girls have EARNED their place but we need YOUR help to get them there!
We need to raise $4,000 to cover our expenses if we want to attend the competition.
These girls have worked so hard for this opportunity and all they want to do is go out there and make their city proud!
Any donation, no matter how big or small, is accepted and appreciated.
