Greetings,
As many of you may or may not know, 14-year-old Malia Andrade and her parents, Robert and Shari Andrade (faithful servants of Christ’s Church), have been walking a difficult medical path these past few months. Malia was recently diagnosed with a very rare disease called Takayasu’s Arteritis, a rare form of vasculitis, which causes blood vessel inflammation. In Takayasu's Arteritis, the inflammation primarily damages the aorta. Malia has had seven emergency trips to the hospital involving surgery and hospital stays at both Harborview and Children’s hospital in the last two months. She is currently back in Children’s undergoing observation as the doctors try to figure out a treatment plan for this extremely painful condition. Not only has this been emotionally draining on the whole family, but it has also put enormous financial strain on them as well.
Many people have been asking about and looking for tangible ways to help the Andrades, and so we have set up this GOFUNDME account for that very purpose.
The family is in need of funds to purchase Malia a hospital bed and special chair for their home. This account for Malia would also provide them with money for gas and food expenses as they go back and forth to the hospital.
