Hi, my name is Gemma and on Friday 8th August we lost my mom Anne Partridge to a cruel widely unknown form of cancer called Myeloma.

Myeloma, also called multiple myeloma, is a type of blood cancer that starts in plasma cells — a kind of white blood cell made in the bone marrow. Healthy plasma cells help fight infections by making antibodies. In myeloma, these cells grow out of control, crowding out healthy blood cells and producing abnormal proteins that damage organs.

Eventually, myeloma leads to severe complications — like life-threatening infections, organ failure, or complications from treatment resistance. Despite advances in treatment, myeloma remains incurable. When treatments stop working and the disease spreads unchecked, the body begins to shut down.

It's a cruel illness — quiet at first, then unrelenting — one that slowly breaks the systems we rely on to live.

My mom Anne was so brave, strong and resilient and became a huge advocate for this charity, always wearing her Myeloma wrist band and donating money herself.

I am asking for donations for this charity as it is a widely unknown form of cancer and desperately needs more funding so others can, one day be cured.
