Derek's Rally Against Brain Cancer

Derek Young, 8 yrs old, started to have headaches that soon turned to nausea just a short 2 weeks ago. After his parents brought him into the ER they soon discovered it was much more than the flu, it was a brain tumor. A few days later he was having brain surgery to remove the tumor but unfortunately they could not take it all due to the location.
After the mass was tested, they determined it was a bad one. In a few weeks, after Derek recovers from his shunt surgery, he'll start daily radiation for 6 weeks straight. Angela and Zell (Ryan) are glad that they have such amazing treatment facilities in their state as they will get to stay together as a family and only need to commute daily to treatments.
The family currently only has one car but may have access to another one for this purpose. Due to the cost of gas, meals, loss of wages, and the unthinkable amount of medical bills, I have set up this account for the Young family.
I have had the pleasure of visiting them during this tumultuous time. The strength and hope this strong family bond carries is warming. "Queen Kate" (as the people in the play place refer to her as) is a firecracker full of fun. She is Derek's 5.5 yr old sister and there is no doubt she adores him. Feeding him food, playing games with him during PT; anything her brother needs.
Derek is a special type of person, someone you rarely meet. I've seen him thank a multitude of people that come in and poke at him. He told snoopy he did a great job at bingo after he watched him on the TV. His thankfulness and grace clearly comes from his love of Jesus.
There is no question they're going to beat this, just the road on how they'll get there is unknown. Please help support this family and more importantly, add this family to your daily prayers.
