Help Teacher-Owned Platform Co-Op

MyCoolClass  is confronting all of the inequalities in virtual education that teachers around the world face every day by creating a teacher-owned platform cooperative. That’s right! Owned and managed by teachers, not venture capitalists who only want to maximize profits, often by exploiting freelance teachers and tutors.


We have started this GoFundMe to help raise initial capital and help us achieve our goals as a new cooperative.

Yes, that is right!  All member teachers become co-owners and have a stake in the company. As a cooperative, there are no “big bosses” or investors making all the decisions.

WHAT IS A WORKER COOPERATIVE OR CO-OP?

A worker cooperative is a business that is owned and controlled by its workers, who constitute the members of the cooperative.

The two central characteristics of worker cooperatives are:

◼️ workers own the business, and they participate in its financial success
on the basis of their labor contribution to the cooperative.

◼️ workers have representation and vote for the board of directors,
adhering to the principle of one worker, one vote.

We strive to be the necessary change in virtual education to provide a better option for independent teachers around the world who are often overworked and underpaid.
