My name is Victoria Wynn, and I am originally from Myanmar (Burma). I am writing to you with a heavy heart following the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar (Burma) on February 28, 2025. As someone with deep connections to the people and communities of Myanmar, I feel an urgent responsibility to help those who have been affected by this catastrophic disaster.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.7, has caused widespread destruction across multiple cities, including Myanmar's second-largest city, where up to 80% of homes have been destroyed. Tragically, over 2,700 people have already lost their lives, and the death toll is likely to rise significantly as search and rescue efforts continue. Many thousands more remain missing under the rubble, and survivors are in desperate need of food, water, shelter, medical supplies, and clothing.
This earthquake is now the worst natural disaster in Myanmar’s history, and its impact on the country is unprecedented. Entire communities have been obliterated, and the need for immediate relief has never been greater. We urgently need your support to provide the basic necessities for those affected.
I am directly involved in coordinating relief efforts with local and international teams to ensure that the aid reaches the people who need it most. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward providing critical emergency relief for survivors, helping them rebuild their lives after this devastating event.
