My trip to "Mix With The Masters"

Hey everyone, I'm Thomas Hays-- a 23 year old musician, producer and professor from Wichita, Kansas. I teach music production and film at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS-- go Swedes! I have been playing in my band Faux Reality for 10 years with my brother James Hays and my best friend Garret Armstrong. We are releasing an album that we recorded ourselves later this month.

The reason for this Gofundme campaign is that I got accepted into an exclusive week long music producing and mixing seminar in France. It's called "Mix With The Masters" and it's at a studio mansion called Studio La Fabrique. Only 16 people in the world are accepted for each seminar.

My mentor will be the living legend, Joe Chiccarelli, who has worked with The White Stripes, Frank Zappa, The Killers, The Strokes, Elton John, Jamie Cullum, U2 and so many more.

I believe that education is something nobody can take away from you.  With that in mind, I hope that I can further my education with this once-in-a-lifetime seminar. My goal is $6500 and this would cover the entire trip.

If I reach more than $6500, I will donate the rest of the money to my friend Breck Adkins who recently lost his brother in an automobile accident.. In December 2016, I produced an album for Breck and his brother's band Toxodera.  The two of them had been recording albums with me for many years now.  Shortly after they finished the album, his brother Chauncy passed away in an automobile accident. We always talk about pressing vinyl and I would love to hang his record up on the wall in memory of him.  I would love to give back to Breck for all the great times we've had with Chauncy.  I hope this inspires Breck to continue to make great music.  Chauncy, we miss you man!
