My Travel Course With Roanoke College

Hello, I'm Jessica Horton. I'm trying to raise money to pay for my May Term travel course at school. The course is two weeks long in May, with my Environmental Studies major advisor and our school Chaplain. May Terms are a 1-4 week required course that involves hands on learning, typically off campus.

I'll be going to Washington state to Holden Village in the Cascade Mountains. The village is a Christian community and an eco-village, meaning they live primarily off the land. Students will be living there for two weeks and helping with chores around the village, while learning about the connections between spirituality and the environment, all while disconnected from the grid with no internet access or cell service.
