<div>I am taking part in the Tour de 4 in Scotland this September, cycling the red route which is a 56 mile/90 kilometre bike ride.

<div>WHO FOR?
</div>
<div>Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer are an incredible support network who have taken me under their wing from day 1 and made sure myself and my family are looked after, allowing us to make memories together, as well as providing friendship, care and advice. I have also had the pleasure of singing with their choir! They are simply amazing ladies!

<div>Without Cancer Research UK, I wouldn’t be on the medication I currently am, which is keeping me living well with the disease. Their research is helping us cancer bods stay alive a lot longer than the prognosis’s.

<div>WHY?
</div>
<div>I was originally diagnosed in 2015 with breast cancer, overnight it flipped my world upside down. I underwent various surgeries from fertility preservation to a lumpectomy, gruelling chemotherapy, 25 days of radiotherapy, and ongoing hormone and targeted treatments. In 2022, just a year after my miracle daughter was born, I was given the devastating news that the cancer had returned, metastasised, and was now incurable Stage 4 cancer. It had made a home in my liver, and in my spine, hips, ribs and collarbone, causing two spinal fractures. I reentered the world of treatment, with radiotherapy to my spine, gruelling chemotherapy once again, and ongoing targeted and hormone treatments. I continue to have 3-weekly, 4-weekly and 6-weekly treatments along with a variety of daily medications. Due to one of the treatments that is keeping the cancer at bay, my heart function has also been severely impacted over the years.

<div>There is so much more to Stage 4 than dying, and Sir Chris Hoy has set up this event following his own Stage 4 diagnosis, to change the perceptions of incurable cancer.
