<div>Like many of you, I was deeply moved when Sir Chris Hoy courageously shared his Stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. His strength in turning this devastating news into a force for positive change through the Tour de 4 is truly inspirational.

<div>I believe in leading by example – and that means getting on my bike to raise both awareness and funds for the people who matter most: the men suffering from prostate cancer and their families and friends whose lives are turned upside down by this disease.

<div>My Personal Challenge

<div>Here’s the thing – I haven’t been on a bike for 4 years, yet on September 7th, 2025, I’ll be cycling 37 miles through Scotland as part of Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4 Blue Route. It’s going to hurt, I’ll probably question my sanity somewhere around mile 20, but every pedal stroke will be worth it.

<div>This isn’t about me proving anything – it’s about showing that we all have a role to play in supporting those facing prostate cancer. If I can go from my sofa to 37 miles in just 33 days of training, imagine what we can achieve together in the fight against this disease.

<div>Why This Matters
</div>
<div>Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men – that’s fathers, brothers, partners, friends. Over 12,000 men die from prostate cancer every year in the UK. These aren’t just statistics; they’re people with families, dreams, and so much more to give.
</div>

</div>
<div>The research that Prostate Cancer UK funds is transforming lives:

<div>- Developing better, more accurate tests for early detection
</div>
<div>- Supporting men and their families through diagnosis and treatment
</div>

<div>Every pound donated makes a real difference. But as someone taking on this cycling challenge, I also understand that it’s about more than money – it’s about showing solidarity, raising awareness, and proving that together, we can beat prostate cancer.

<div>My Goal
</div>
<div>I’m aiming to raise £500 for Prostate Cancer UK. Every donation, no matter the size, will help fund vital research and support services that are saving and improving lives right now.

<div>More than that, I want this challenge to start conversations. Talk to the men in your life about prostate cancer. Encourage them to check their risk using Prostate Cancer UK’s free 30-second risk checker at [prostatecanceruk.org/risk-checker](<a href="https://prostatecanceruk.org/risk-checker" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://prostatecanceruk.org/risk-checker</a>). This simple tool helps men understand their risk factors and make an informed choice about whether a PSA blood test is right for them. From there, they can speak to their GP and take their health seriously.
