In September, my sister and I will be cycling 90km as part of Chris Hoy’s Tour de Four — in memory of our dad, and to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.

Last year, my dad passed away due to a glioblastoma - an incredibly aggressive type of brain tumour. My dad was super fit and LOVED cycling, so this ride feels like the perfect way to raise money for a charity that maters so much.

Brain tumours kill more men under 70 than prostate cancer, more women under 35 than breast cancer, and only 25% of people diagnosed with glioblastoma survive more than a year.

Despite this, brain tumour research receives only 1.37% of the national spend on cancer research. Meaning it would take 100s of years for brain cancer understanding to catch up with other diseases.

I’m fundraising for The Brain Tumour Charity, a charity working to change those numbers - by accelerating research to find new treatments, raising awareness, and fighting for better funding.
