Our St Maarten family

Donation protected
At this CHRISTMAS time, I am so thankful for the support you have shown for our 'St. Maarten family'.
Those of you who have help them...THANK YOU so much.  For those of you who missed this opportunity to help our 'family' in need, could you please donate to them this Christmas?

I am making one last appeal in 2017!

 See UPDATES below:

On Sept 6, Hurricane Irma struck St. Maarten.  You all know what devastation it caused.  Three of these families have been 'LET GO' from their jobs.  One has no boat to make a living from.  ALL are still needing your help!

The island can't support tourists and 95% of the jobs there are related to the tourist industry.  All the major cruise lines have cancelled stops to St. Maarten till further notice.  Most of the resorts sustained so much damage that they are not accepting reservations till 2019!

Since I opened the fund, we have sent $500 for each of the families.  They have used the money to start to re-build what they had lost.  Thank you for your support!!

We are appealing for additional money for these families.  We are short of the goal we established.  Another $500 each would go a long way for them.  Could you please open your heart and help support these families?

**Neil Rorbert was born in South Africa and now lives in St. Maarten.  He is a father of two sons and a daughter.  His two sons live in St. Maarten.  He sailed his first catamaran, the Celine from South Africa.  After that boat sank in Hurricane Gonzalez, he put his second catamaran, Celine Too, into the water.  He hosts visitors and tourists from all over the world on the Celine Too.  His tours are rated as one of the tops 5 things to do in St. Maarten.   He is an unbelievably gracious host, a good man and a great cook! During Hurricane Irma, he completely lost his Celine Too.  He intends to find another boat as soon as he can, which will be names Celine 3.  Until then, he has no livelihood.

UPDATE:  With the help of his proceeds, he is hoping to have another boat ready when the tourist do start to come back.

**Germaine Henry was born in St. Maarten and family still lives there.  He is married with a 6 year old and a 2 year old.  He worked his way up through the ranks to become the Front Desk manager of a 4 star resort on the Dutch side of the island.  He is a dependable, committed and has a knack for quick and reasonable resolutions of concerns.  He sent his wife and 2 boys to stay with his wife's family for their safety.  Their house suffered water and wind damage but held through the Hurricane.  His mothers house was completely lost.  He is currently housing his mother, yet he reports to work for his shift and you would never know what pressures he has outside of work.

UPDATE: With the help of his proceeds, he is buying food to feed his family.

**Jean Boasman was born in St. Martin and family still lives there.  He is hard working and always smiling.  His smile and enthusiasm is contagious!  He enjoys music and works on the island as a DJ. His family and him are alive and have been evacuated due to the violence on the island.  His family and him lost everything.  He's job is no longer available since the sales center is closed.  There are no tourists coming to the island to purchase time shares.  He is no longer DJ'ing as there are no clubs open.

UPDATE:  With the help of his proceeds, he is replacing some furniture, all of which was destroyed.

**Harold Richardson is 'all business'.  But when you get under that facade, you'll find a sensitive man with a huge sense of humor and endless optimism.  He is a front desk employee of a large American resort in St. Maarten.  He is dedicated to his family and his 'work family'.  He is reliable as the day is long.  You can always count on his undivided attention when you are talking to him.
He lost the roof on his house in Irma along with most personal property.  Yet, he reports to work to help with the rebuild there

UPDATE:  With the help of his proceeds, his roof is in the process of being repaired

All four families are extreamly grateful for your help!
On this CHRISTMAS, I am thankful for your help in  giving them some relief.  Thank you so much!

It will be a long and hard 2018 for them!  You can help!

I will close the fund at the end of December, 2017.

Thanking you in advance,
Amy
