My Son's Family-Victims of Harvey

I'm Neva Hoover and I reside in Burlington, Ia.  My son Shane Howard and his family have become one of the many displaced families of Hurricane Harvey and the extensive flooding.  The picture is my favorite photo of my grandson when he was much younger and wearing a knitted sweater, made by my sister.
My son and I were both born in Mt. Pleasant IA. Shane and I moved to Baytown, TX  and lived for over 17 years.  He attended college in Houston. Shane loved the Baytown/Houston area so much, that late last year he moved his family back there to open his business.  Shane and his wife  Shannon have medical issues that require attention and expensive medicine.  Their son Kieran is 10 years old. They have lost their home and all their belongings.  They have no insurance to cover their loses. They have their lives, their pets, the clothes on their back, and what's left of their business. Their business took on water too, with damages that are yet to be determined.  Their vehicle started to float away, but Shane was able to save it.
This is a couple who have worked 2 jobs at a time for decades, and struggled to provide a good home for their children.  They are very creative, hard working parents and have always worked toward the  revitalization of communties.  I know that was Shane's dream for this area in Houston where he moved-which is along Navigation Blvd.  You can read more about Shane, Shannon and their business in an article titled:
Marquee Moon's Houston Roots Go Way Back

Now as Shane and his family were just getting things moving in a positive direction, Harvey has flooded them.  They have suffered such a financial loss that I am asking for your help.  If I could, I would be more specific about the all the needs and the extent of the expenses.  But I just don't have that information yet and wanted to get this started.  Any donation you make will help Shane and his family start rebuilding in the location they are dedicated to  making a difference in.  Please help keep Shane and Shannon's dream of a better neighborhood, a better life, and a better world, alive.

Note: Shane's step-mother Rhonda Howard is also running a fundraiser thru GoFundMe.
