Anita Sofia - My Sister & Friend

Anita was diagnosed with a large thoracic aortic aneurysm in 2015. This is a serious heart condition and she will eventually need open heart surgery but for now, she is on heart medications and has a lot of major life restrictions. This has changed her ability to work but she doesn't yet qualify for disability. The jobs that she is able to do don't pay her much - barely enough to support herself. And NOW, due to a hand injury & surgery, she's unable to work at all. She's been out of work for almost a month with no other income. She is in danger of losing her vehicle, her place to live, and doesn't even have the ability to buy groceries really. She has medical & other (utilities, etc) bills piling up. Her dog needs a vet visit & shots, her Jeep needs tires and brakes, and life is just life.

Anita has been my bestie and there for me since the day we met 14 years ago. She is kind, loyal and generous, and would give you the shirt off of her back. She has helped so many other people (and animals!) too. Just a few months ago she was there when I really needed help and came through for me in a big way when I had nothing. Some of you, her friends, were part of that and I'm so grateful.

Just this week she graduated from a Certified Peer Support Specialist Training Program (with a grade of 99% - woohoo!) and I'm so proud of her! She will be applying for jobs in the mental health field, but needs some help until her hand is healed and she can work. The certification means that she will be able to make quite a bit more money in this new type of job, so as soon as she's in a new position things will be looking up. Anyway, as you can see, she is in a challenging situation. Would you please help me help her? I love her so much and she needs & deserves it. Please & Thank you.
