My sister has ALS....Please help

My sister Carmen (on the right) was given the diagnosis of ALS on her 50th birthday in July 2017. We were in shock and disbelief as we had lost our mother to the same disease 7 years prior. Carmen and I along with support from our other 4 siblings took care of Mom at home until she passed. We were all too familiar with ALS and could not believe this horrible disease struck our family again. Carmen is a fighter and a trailblazer. There is no cure for ALS, however Carmen is actively pursuing alternative care and therapies which include nutrition, detoxing chelation and hyperbaric oxygen therapy all of which are not covered by her insurance, which is 100% funded by them and not employer based. She is getting some symptom relief from these therapies, all of which are not covered by her private insurance. Her husband Mike is juggling 3 jobs, and they have three teenagers at home, Tommy the oldest, has just enlisted in the service and will be heading to boot camp in June. Emily is a 4 point plus student and helps with working, grocery shopping and driving her sister Teresa to school and activities. Carmen is determined to live her best life with ALS.
