My Ride Across Iowa- Ragbria 2017

Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family!
I am so excited to be a part of something so huge this year like Ragbria.   As most of you know I started cycling about two years ago to follow in the footsteps of my 9.2 second 100 yard dash, football star, swim/track coach, and Senior Olympic cycyling father.  Tragically the last steps my father ever took were getting off his bike at his last Senior Olympics in Las Vegas.   Because of spinal cancer he was paralyzed from the waist down for the remaining years of his life. It's been a dream of mine to take up cycling like him and I've finally been making it happen.   So far I've cycled in 2015 & 2016 El Tour De Tucson and will be doing it again this year.  But I have been looking for a bigger challenge that had an even bigger meaning behind it.   My father was a coach and helped many of his students reach their goals and dreams.   He had a big heart and was always going out of his way to help and care for the kids in his life.   Keeping in line with my father's theme of giving back I went on the hunt for a cause.  Remember. . . what you put out into the universe will be answered!   A friend and co-Realtor reached out to me to join him and his team "AZZ Hurtz" to ride in the 2017 Ragbrai event July 23rd-29th.
Ragbrai is a 500 mile ride across the state of Iowa.  Aaron Wilson and his team raise $ to take disabled veterans on this ride as well.  Our country does a great job at training our  troops to fight overseas, however they do a poor job at training them how to adapt to society upon their return.   Some of these  veterans have scars that occurred on the battlefield  that they carry home with them.  The ride is a therapeutic opportunity to not only to challenge them physically but mentally by giving them a consistent goal to train for.  The ride is also an opportunity to overcome challenges relating to PTSD.
With my father-in-law being a veteran and other friends of mine that are veterans, I felt that this was a very meaningfull and positive way to give back to them and to say thank you for their selfless service.   Being a part of such an impactful event will help me reach my goal of carrying on my father's legacy and showing my son an equal role model to follow as he grow's up.   I am greatful for anything you can give to help me on this journey and to our cause for riding across Iowa.  Thank you and we love you-  The Fuennings (Jeffrey, Crystel and Hunter)
