My Project Car and My Passion

51459180_1601011773804111_r.jpeg51459180_1601011940835505_r.jpegHello all! My name is Daniel and this here is my (not so) trusty and amazing BMW E36 M3. Cars have always been an interest since childhood and this year with the help of my pops I was able to buy one of my dream cars since childhood. I know it seems crazy, why would I buy an old, less than reliable, BMW? Let me tell you, it wasn't for me to get myself from point A to point B, but to learn about cars, racing, and to pursue my passion. I've wanted to be racer, specifically a drifter, for quite some time and I've been working on and driving my car as far as she'll let me push her all year long.
With my car being a project, much, if not almost all, of my money has gone into restoring her and taking her beyond her original glory. As you can see in the photo above this is me taking apart the engine in order to work on certain parts that have not been maintained or serviced in quite some time which I need to work in tip top shop so I can push her beyond the limits of normal cars.
Prior to purchasing this car I have had no formal or actual automotive training, everything I've learned and everything I've done has all been possible through findings on old forums, youtube videos, and occasional advice from friends who are also into cars. Most of my time has been dedicated to chasing my end goal and learning all I can in order to better understand cars and their parts, which has driven me to want to change this to a life career through auto technical school and broadening my horizons for what I can do with my own two hands.
I'm not here to ask for a handout, I don't need money so I can hand over my car to my mechanic and let him do it for me, I'm here to ask you to help me continue down the path I've chosen. All funds will be going towards upgrades for my car in order to improve her performance, and parts in order to upkeep things that are long overdue for refreshes. These parts include, but are not limited to:
Oil cooler,
Control arms,
Upgraded intake manifold,
Lighter wheels for shaving down weight and drifting,
Upgraded tuning for performance,
Drive shaft,
Cams for increased airflow potential

There's a lot more to be done to the car, the potential and upgrades are never ending but this is the big step in the right direction. Aside from the things I've listed above I've already done so much to her as she came almost entirely stock with original parts and it's time she gets the right treatment after being on the road for 23 years.

Thank you all who have read my story.
