My Permaculture Adventure

I love permaculture! Ever since I took a Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) course with instructor Wayne Weiseman, it has opened my eyes and debunked some myths about food production, energy use, recycling, and economic and social structures of communities.
This experience has shaped my education, career path, interests, and goals. I am fortunate to have exchanged knowledge and passion for permaculture with my mother before she passed away in August 2015 with cancer. Since then, I vowed to move forward to spread information like wildfire about permaculture with my community and beyond.
Currently, I am installing a sustainable food forest on my property, started a school gardening project and implementing permaculture principals at West Potomac High School, Pulley Career Center, and Quander Road School, and working at the Fairfax County Farmers Markets. My greatest joy is when my six-year-old sister rushes out the door to plant and harvest cherry tomatoes. Plucking a handful of tomatoes, shoves it in her mouth, and scavenges around for more.
My journey has just begun, and I would like others to join me. Your kind donations will go into a scholarship fund under the Permaculture Project LLC. , in order to allow those who cannot afford the course be able to attend it.
I am fortunate that my previous employer, Clean Fairfax, assisted me in the cost of the course. Because of this opportunity, I was able to take the course, be the person I am today-- to strive, share, and implement permaculture principles, making a positive impact for myself, family, and community.
