In June 2025, our lives changed forever. David (23) was airlifted 2,223km from Broome to Royal Perth Hospital with life-threatening infections. Since then, both of his kidneys have failed, and we have spent the last 8 months living in Perth so he can receive the life-sustaining Haemodialysis he needs to stay alive.
 
Because our home in Broome lacks the necessary medical equipment, we cannot go back. We are stranded in Perth, thousands of kilometers away from our family and support system.

The initial 8 weeks of medical accommodation support ended a long time ago. For the past several months, we have been fighting an uphill battle to keep a roof over our heads and cover the costs of daily life
 
—all while David waits for a life-saving transplant. With us both unable to work and the cost of living in the city, we are facing extreme financial hardship.
 
We are seeking urgent assistance to help cover:
 
 * Stable private accommodation cost to continue stay close to the hospital)
 
 * Transport costs to and from constant dialysis treatments
 
 * Daily essentials and medical expenses We are fighting to keep David's spirits up and his body strong, but we cannot do this alone anymore.

Life changed in an instant for us. We went from planning our future together to navigating a new world of hospital stays and dialysis treatments. David is a warrior, and as his partner and carer, I’m doing everything I can to support him—but the financial toll is something we can’t manage alone.
 
Because of the frequency of his treatments, we are facing significant accommodation costs and travel expenses to stay near the hospital. These, along with daily essentials and medical bills, have created a burden we never expected at our age.
