<div><span>My name is Chase wood and this go fund me is to help with bills, food, travel and stay accommodations for my mother and father while going through chemo treatments at the hospital in London. In April my mom was in the hospital where they found a mass in her right ovary that was 6 inches big. On Thursday may 22 she went to the hospital in so much pain she couldn’t move. The Owen sound hospital transported her to London where they did more tests. The doctors found out that the mass had ruptured and was leaking everywhere. They did emergency surgery Sunday may 25th and she had a full hysterectomy to remove the mass. It turns out she has stage 3 ovarian cancer. (Clear cell carcinoma) This form of ovarian cancer is very rare And due to the placement of the mass it has spread the cancer through her blood stream. She has spots on her heart and her lungs that are still to be determined if they are tumours or blood clots so there will be more tests to follow . She will be spending the next 6 months travelling to a hospital three hours away from where we live for treatment. Before each treatment she will have to have blood work and ultrasounds done. My parents are both self employed and with mom being in the Hospital and dad staying by her side and taking care of her, there will be no income coming for either of them. I am trying to raise as much money as I can to help relieve some of the financial stress the next six months will bring. I want to make sure my parents aren’t stuck in a hotel where they can’t cook their own meals or be stressed about money from travelling, medication costs and having to stay in London for treatments. No matter the amount if you can donate every dollar will count. This has been such a shock and is taking a toll on everyone emotionally. It’s been a really hard nearly 3 weeks not having either of them at home as they’ve been stuck in the hospital. The first round of chemo will be starting on Tuesday June 10th and then she can finally come home. They will be travelling to London every 3 weeks for treatments, due to the amount of travel the tests and how she feels after treatment they may be spending nights in a hotel to make sure everything is done right and she is well enough to travel. They have also found out that she is being sent home with blood thinner injections that will cost 1500$ a month. These are not covered by Ohip and being self employed they don’t have any benefits to help cover the cost. There will also be other medications she needs for the cancer itself.
