My Papa Oscar Aquino

My father, Oscar Aquino, 66 years old, has been in a comatose state since May 23rd of this year. My papa went for a voluntary back surgery. He woke up from the surgery and was doing fine. However, during his hospital stay, he had a cardiac arrest and since he wasn't attached to monitors, no one knew it. It wasn't until the nurse came in and saw my dad that way and called the code. It was around six minutes that he wasn't getting oxygen to his brain. Due to that, MRI shows he suffered multiple strokes in the first layer of his brain. Since then my dad has been in a coma. He has been in a long term care facility. However, a few days ago he was taken to the hospital due to some complications. He now has pneumonia and bed sores. Yesterday he was transferred to hospice where doctors have told us that he might leave us in a couple of days. With a broken heart I write you all this letter, a pain I have never felt. I wish he could see me walk down to receive my diploma. Any of his close relatives could tell you how it is his desire to see his kids finish school. He always pushed that on us. I ask for prayers for my family. We can't imagine life without being able to see his face. But God is sustaining us. I ask for your help with funeral expenses. We are not even close in being prepared for this. Whatever you can help with whether it being prayers or monetary, we appreciate you all. Papa will always live in our hearts. Doctors are saying these are his last days. My hear is heavy, but God has a plan and His plans are greater than ours. We love you all!!!!! God bless
