My name is Lincoln

I was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 as a newborn. I just turned 8 months old and I have been working so hard to overcome the obstacles I face every single day. My small rural community in upstate New York has gathered around me and my family to help us in so many ways and for their love and support, we are grateful every day.
I get regular spinal injections of Spinraza, a new drug that helps me to build my muscles. With those injections, physical and occupational therapy, my amazing doctors and my family’s constant care, I have progressed really well. I can hold my head up independently for fifteen long minutes, reach for my toys and grasp your finger. I have a long road ahead of me and someday, I hope that I will be able to follow in my big brothers’ footsteps. One baby step at a time.
And now, while we are working so hard, a new and unexpected obstacle is facing my family.
And so,  I am holding my head high and reaching out to the larger community to help my family buy a house.
We have just learned that our landlord is selling the house we live in. We don’t have the money and the house we live in is not really suitable.
I have a new friend who visited me the day after we found out we have to move. My friend told me that my smile lights up her ❤️.
When she found out about our situation,  she said she will find us a new home, a home that will be ours, a home that will be accessible and will accommodate my family.  She said she will raise the money so we won’t be faced with losing our home ever again.
My name is Pam. I am Lincoln’s friend.  I made a commitment to my little friend and I intend to keep it. It is important for Lincoln to live in his very supportive community so finding the right home will be a challenge but I know it can be done.
I believe that there are kind, compassionate and generous people all over our country. I am on a mission to reach out to as many of you as I can.
Please donate whatever amount you can and then, when and if you can, donate again. Please share this gofundme page with your friends on social media, your colleagues at work, your fellow churchgoers, your neighbors and everyone else in your community.
Lincoln needs your help. Please show him you care. We will be forever grateful.
