My moms time in the hospital

My mom is one of the most selfless, caring, stubborn, loving, outgoing, independent and insane human beings on the planet.  She loves harder than anyone I know and has always made sacrifices to make sure her children never went without.  She raised my sisters and I on her own, and taught us to be determined, passionate, kind and hardworking - to this I owe her s great thanks to our successes in life.  She has always taught us good things happen to good people so I can’t quite understand why a disease like PBC had to get her.
They say it was because of unscreened blood during blood transfusions during the birth of my older sister.
PBC is an auto immune disease that effects the bile ducts in your liver which makes it nearly impossible for your body to properly filter toxins which leaves them free flowing in your blood.
Diagnosed almost 7 years ago, we were  very fortunate that my mom was accepted in the liver transplant division of New York Presbytarian Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.  The first two years my mom was unable to get medical insurance so it made the medicine and testing payments almost unmanageable, we are so thankful that she obtained full medical insurance in 2015 and hasn’t had to worry about a medical bill since.
The past year her sickness has progressed pretty quickly and my mom has continued to work full time while been such a fighter and ray of life each and everyday.
Last week my mom was taken from Saratoga Hospital to New York Presbytarian Columbia University Medical Center by ambulance for a massive infection that was not going away with 3 days of antibiotics.  My mom has been fully admitted to this hospital and the amazing doctors over there decided it would be in her best interest if she spent the next few months there.
As lucky as we are that her medical bills are covered, my sisters and I are looking for some help to cover her house bills while she is in the best place she can be, and assist in some traveling expenses to make sure she is never alone.  We are unsure what the next few months will have to offer but I do know that if anyone can make it through all of this madness it is my mom Shannon.
My mom taught me every dollar counts so please donate what you can and all prayers are appreciated thank you all so much!  I will continue to post updates of her status!
