My mom has metastatic gastrointestinal cancer.

My mom, Diana Sherman, has been an integral part of the Northern New York community. For the last five years, she has given every ounce of love she has to everyone she knows. While running Momma’s Kitchen, she would go many sleepless nights making sure our soldiers and their families had a warm meal while they were training in the fields. She would make sure a growing family that was a little short on funds that month had all they needed, support our local police officers and uniformed mean and women, and give back to the community in any way she could. She went above and beyond for our community and people in need.
Unfortunately, this time it is her that is in need.
In January 2019, my mom started to not feel well. It started with nausea and light-headedness. At first we thought it was her change in medications and not drinking enough water. As time when on and other medical issues began to pop up, it became more concerning. In February 2019, we closed Momma’s Kitchen so we could
focus on Momma’s health.
Over the next five months, we fought for testing to understand what was happening. That’s when we finally got the news. My mom has aggressive, metastatic Gastrointestinal Cancer. Since her diagnosis, Mom and Dad have been traveling to see specialists 2-3 times a week at the closest facility. Each visit is 150 miles round trip. Right now, she cannot eat. A tumor in her stomach is blocking food from being ingested. She is losing an excessive amount of weight. Her chemotherapy treatment will begin around September 26th.
In the meantime, I'm calling on our community. Would you consider helping my mom in this battle? Any contribution you can make to help her get through this challenging time would be appreciated. I would love to help offset the costs of her travel, her chemotherapy treatments, and some of the surgeries we are expecting in the near future.
I want to see my Mom smile again. She’s given everything she has in hopes of making a single moment in someone else’s day better. If you ever had a chance to walk into the restaurant, you would know she would drop everything in a moment's notice to be present with you. Would you consider doing the same for her?
Please share this with anyone and everyone. Whatever you can do to help us is appreciated.
