In the Darkest Hour, I Found a Tiny Light
Hey everyone,
I’m writing this because I'm totally overwhelmed and really need help.
A while ago, I suddenly lost my 54-year-old mom to a very rare disease, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, and honestly, my whole world just shattered. I’m living far from home, and being so isolated while dealing with that kind of grief has been the hardest thing ever.
I was feeling lost and desperate for a friend. Even though I’m already deep in debt from taking time off to be with my mom during her illness, I made the huge decision to adopt a tiny kitten just four days ago. I was ready to live on ramen noodles—I just needed that little bit of light. He’s my everything now. He’s a total cuddle bug, always sleeping on my chest and finally making my apartment feel less empty.
The day after I got him, I took him to the vet. They quickly became suspicious about Ringworm, and the test results came back positive.
I knew I was in trouble. The full six-week treatment—which includes the expensive oral meds (Itraconazole) plus the two super important final tests to confirm he's actually cured—is going to cost $664.78. When you add the consultation and the first examination fee, the total cost already hits $973.15.
I can't believe this is happening. Based on other people’s experiences, the thought of this fungus never seeming to go away has me absolutely terrified. Sadly, I simply don’t have the opportunity to run all those tests and buy the medications even once, let alone multiple times if the infection returns.
If we can’t afford this full treatment and the rigorous cleaning, we’ll be stuck in this endless, heartbreaking loop of him getting reinfected. I can't let that happen to the tiny soul who just saved me.
Here's What I Need Help With
Please, if you can chip in anything, it would be a true lifesaver for both of us. The money will go straight to his treatment, and I will be updating here with the receipts and how his recovery is going.
Thank you so much for reading this. Your generosity means my kitten won't have to fight this alone, and it means I can finally start healing too. Every share and every dollar is helping save my reason to get up in the morning.
