My name is Declan, it's taken me 40 years to have the courage to tell people who I really am.
I was assigned female at birth and used to be called Debs. I'm a transgender male.
Changing my name and transitioning in to society has been relatively straightforward and with readily available help and guidance was done with some ease.
The next part of transitioning is not so easy or straightforward.
The NHS waiting list for transgender patients to be seen by a specialist is 2 to 3 years wait!!
2 to 3 years!! I dont think i will ever get over how much they are letting me and other transgender patients down.
Reason for this GoFundMe....
Private treatment. I need to see a psychiatrist before I can start hormones, I need to see an endocrinologist before i can start hormones, I desperately need top surgery for my mental well being.
Cost of private pre treatment is at least £1000
Cost of private top surgery is up to £9000
The clinic is in London so travel expenses will soon start to add up.
I would never normally ask for any help but I need this. I need this more than anything.
